New role of
Youth
Pastor at PBC National Advertisement NOW CLOSED - 20th May 2005
About We
believe PBC to be a lively, friendly, informal, and outward-looking church
with a vision for growth. The church has a miraculous story of growth and
has experienced renewal in recent years. It is an inter-generational
community of 300 members with many more on the fringes. We
endorse the statements of faith of both the Evangelical Alliance and the
Baptist Union. The emphasis that visitor’s often comment on is that PBC
is a ‘Word and Spirit’ based church. In
terms of leadership, PBC is committed to team ministry, with full-time
ministerial staff working alongside a team of Elders and About Energy Energy
is the name given to PBC’s work with young people between the ages of
11-18. We work closely in partnership with all the churches in Poynton,
especially the Methodist church. Energy’s programme is varied, with a
mixed diet of both discipleship, worship and mission activities across the
age spectrum. A team of about 15 voluntary workers presently lead the
work, with about 90 -100 young people at varying stages of belief (or
none) attending the various activities. We have good relationships with
other youth agencies and the local High school. Supporting the new Youth Pastor The
leaders and church at PBC will offer both personal support and development
opportunities to ensure the new Youth Pastor’s work is both effective
and rewarding. The Youth Pastor will work from on office base with the
ministerial and secretarial staff. Whilst we are looking for someone who
is self-motivated and capable of working independently, the culture and
practice of PBC is strongly team oriented. We will offer a generous
financial package to the right candidate and will consider potential
housing needs, should this be an issue.
We envisage this appointment will initially be for a three-year
period.
