This
year has been a very encouraging one in many ways, but also a very sad and
painful one for us. We miss Steve more than we can express – his
wonderful encouragement, warm smile, inspiring trumpet playing. What a
wonderful gift he was to us all, and we will always remember Steve with a
very deep affection. There is a gap in the group that will never be
filled...... We
are grateful to God that he has been at work in the worship life of the
church. There continues to be a greater depth in our worship, more
creative use of our gifts as well as a greater openness to the leading of
the Spirit. The
main worship leaders at PBC are now meeting regularly to seek the Lord and
to encourage and support one another. The leaders of bands A & B are
also starting to meet regularly – again to seek God together and to look
at practical issues that arise within the group. We are also planning some
special evenings of worship in the coming months for the whole church. There
are now further opportunities to serve God outside of PBC. Already a group
goes into Strangeways prison on a regular basis (led by Dave Ainscough)
– with a desire to touch the lives of many who are in such need of
knowing the love, acceptance and forgiveness of God. Another small group
went to Fords Lane Church late last year to lead worship there at a
service led By Our ongoing vision is to develop the worship life of the church in the coming year by being open to all that God has for us, to continue to have the attitude of servants, to celebrate the gifts that God has placed in the group and to develop our skill – so that we may offer the very best to the Lord within the worship life of PBC. The worship rota can be found here. |
