MOTIVATION GIFTS

PROPHECY -The special ability that God gives to certain members of the body of Christ to receive and communicate an immediate message of God to His people through a divinely anointed utterance

 

SERVING - (or ministering) The ability to identify the unmet needs involved in a task related to Gods work, and to make use of available resources to meet those needs and help accomplish the desired goals.

 

TEACHING - The ability to communicate information relevant to the health and ministry of the body in such a way that others will learn

 

ENCOURAGEMENT - (Exhortation) Ability to minister words of comfort, consolation, encouragement and counsel to other members of the Body bringing to them help, healing and wholeness

SHOWING MERCY (helps) - Ability to feel genuine empathy and compassion for individuals both Christian and non-Christian who suffer distressing physical, mental or emotional problems, to translate that compassion into cheerfully done deeds that reflect Christ’s love and alleviate the suffering.

GIFTS OF INSPIRATION

 

TONGUES – 2 kinds of usage:

a) The ability to commune with God from your spirit in a different language

 

b) The ability to receive and communicate an immediate message of God to His people (requiring interpretation)

 

INTERPRETATION – The ability to make known the message of one who speaks in tongues (not translation but an anointed interpretation)

GIFTS OF REVELATION

 

WISDOM - The ability to know the mind

Of the Holy Spirit in such a way as to receive insight into how given knowledge may best be applied to specific needs arising in the body of Christ.

 

KNOWLEDGE - The ability to discover, accumulate, analyze and clarify information which will aid the Body in its growth and well-being

 

DISCERNMENT - The ability to know with assurance whether certain behaviour purported to be of God is in

reality divine, human or satanic.

FAITH - The ability to discern  with extraordinary confidence the will and purposes of God for the future of His work

 

HEALINGS (Plural) - The ability to be used by God as channels to bring about physical, emotional and mental healing and wholeness

 

MIRACLES (Miraculous Powers) – The ability to be used by God as channels to bring powerful acts that alter the ordinary course of nature.

APOSTLE - The ability to exercise leadership and authority over a number of Churches with an authority that is recognized and appreciated by those Churches (peacemaker, troubleshooter, problem solver).

 

PROPHET - (see Motivational Gifts)

 

EVANGELIST - The ability to share and communicate the gospel with unbelievers in such a way that they become true disciples of Christ and members of the Body of Christ.

 

PASTOR - The ability to assume a long-term responsibility for the spiritual and personal welfare of a group of Christians.

 

TEACHER – see Spiritual Gifts.

ADMINISTRATION (1 Cor. 12: 28)

To understand, devise and execute effectively plans for the accomplishment of Gods work.

 

 

MINISTRIES Cont

 

 

CELIBACY (1 Cor. 7:7) – The ability to remain single and enjoy it, to be unmarried and not suffer undue sexual temptations.

 

VOLUNTARY POVERTY (1 Cor 13:3) -

To renounce without complaint material comfort and adopt a lifestyle which identifies with the poor.

 

MARTYDOM (1 Cor 13:3) - To undergo suffering without complaint for the faith even to death while consistently displaying a joyous and victorious attitude that brings glory to God.

 

HOSPITALITY (1 Peter 4:9, 10) – To provide open house and warm welcome to those in need

 

MISSIONARY (Acts 2, Acts 8, Acts 11) – The ability to minister the gospel in a second culture.

 

INTERCESSION (Eph 6: 10-12, 18) - The ability to do warfare in the heavenly places seeing frequent and specific answers to their prayers.

 

DELIVERANCE (Exorcism) Acts 16: 16-18).- The ability to cast out demons and evil spirits from a demonized person.
