Captain Chris Air's parents, Robin and Sally, were relieved

*****

Poynton Baptist Church statement on Navy Personnel release.

Poynton Baptist Church is delighted that Captain Chris Air, and the other personnel held in Iran have been released. Chris is a committed Christian who signed up to serve his country certain that, in doing so, he was also fulfilling God’s plan for his life.

Chris’ parents, Robin and Sally attend Poynton Baptist Church. The last two weeks have been an enormous strain on them but they continued to trust and believe that God would bring Chris safely home. News of the release has come as a huge relief to them.

Rev Neil Brighton, Senior Minister of Poynton Baptist Church said, “It has been a privilege to be able to pray and support Robin and Sally during this time. We want to thank the many people who have joined us in committed prayer for Chris, the family and the others caught up in this incident.”

Churches across the world had been joining in prayer for Chris and the other captives after the Baptist Union of Great Britain sent out a prayer request last week. “I know,” said Neil, “the knowledge that thousands of people were also praying was an immense encouragement to Robin and Sally”.
