The death of Stephen Oake on the 12th January has been a devastating shock to both his family & friends at Poynton Baptist Church and the wider community. Steve was a much loved and valued member of the church, as are his wife and children. He was a man of faith and integrity, which was reflected in the breadth of his church activities, as well as in his job as a police officer. He was also a devoted family man.

We are praying that the faith that Steve was so committed to, will be a comfort to all those shocked by this tragedy.

Lent Groups with Churches Together In Poynton, starting 10th March for 6 weeks.  This a great opportunity to meet and get to know our brothers & sisters in other congregations and to explore scripture together.  This year we hope that the groups will also help us identify some further practical ways we can be working together to address issues in our communities. These groups are an important part of building our Christian witness together. ALL are welcome whether you normally go to a group or not.

Please sign up, filling in the form at the back of Church and returning it to Lynda Wilson as soon as possible. This will be of great help with regards to the organisation. If you would like to lead or host a group please let her know too.
