DPYK is an innovative programme from Care for the Family developed with the drug education charity, HOPE UK. It has been specially designed to offer parents a realistic place to steer their children away from the harmful use of drugs. Sadly we cannot afford not to be educated and engaged with this issue, but here is something that does not just talk honestly about the problems but offers some real help, support and hope to work out solutions.

MARK ELDER’S INDUCTION SERVICE in Newcastle

Mark invited all at PBC who were able to come to his Induction Service at Heaton Baptist Church at 3pm, today. Seven songs/hymns were sung, and contributions were made by Rev Phil Lightbody, Ali Bartlett, Rev John Claydon (Regional Minister), with a message from Dave Shore, plus words and prayers from a number of others. The church was full and the service lasted 2 hours. This was followed by a splendid tea in Wallsend, before the long journey home.

Mark, Zoe and family left us on 23 July 2006, as Mark took up a post of Senior Minister at Heaton Baptist Church, near Newcastle.

at Heaton Baptist Church

30-Sep-06

If you are visiting PBC, it is worth noting that car parking in Poynton can be difficult at times. You can park in a pay car park next door by the Late Shop at 50p for 2 hours (or £5 for 3 to 5 hours) or park free at the Civic Hall car park further up Park Lane - see map. As from the 6th February 06, the 24 hr pay car park is administered by Excel Parking who will issue parking fines for violations (worth being aware).
